With help from volunteers, a<br>community of giving hearts and industry vendors, LAHFH and their partner family, the Adams,<br>celebrated the completion of the home with a dedication ceremony on October 25. The family<br>hoped to be moving into their new home by Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This Habitat build has been uplifting, fun and fulfilling. I\u2019m so proud of the employee-<br>owners of Border States and the vendor partners who helped as well,\u201d said David White, CEO.<br>\u201cSeeing this deserving family move into their home is really gratifying \u2014 knowing the build has<br>made a difference in a family&#8217;s life has certainly brought us as much joy as the Adam family.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The Habitat organization is grateful to Border States for creating transformational<br>change in the lives of Penina Adam and her children,&#8221; said Jim Nelson, Executive Director for<br>LAHFH. &#8220;Your actions have lifted this family \u2014 and generations of the Adam family \u2014 out of<br>the cycle of renting and chronic poverty. The Border States staff gave freely of their time by<br>volunteering over 1,200 hours and made the financial commitment necessary to fund and build<br>the house entirely by themselves \u2014 in just six months! We can\u2019t thank Border States enough for<br>the partnership and support they\u2019ve provided to Habitat on this project!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the course of the build, 206 Border States employee-owners volunteered a total of<br>1,235 hours, and several industry vendors partnered with us to make this community-building<br>project a success, including 3M, Acuity Brands, Eaton, Empire, Encore Wire, Ergodyne, First<br>Aid Only, Honeywell, Hubbell, Intermatic, Klein Tools, Lakeland Industries, Ledvance, Leviton,<br>Louisville Ladders, Milwaukee Tool, MSA, Philips, Southwire, Sqwincher, TE Connectivity and<br>Weiler. This home represents the 71st completed Habitat for Humanity build for Cass County,<br>North Dakota, and Clay County, Minnesota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Border States supplies products and services to construction, industrial and utility<br>customers. The 100% employee-owned company is rated the sixth largest electrical distributor in the United States by Electrical Wholesaling magazine.
