Both parties seek to advance lighting knowledge and to provide a forum for business, training, public engagement, national standards and meaningful engagement with within the lighting industry both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith the fast pace of technology transformation in the lighting industry, it is becoming more and more challenging to keep every stakeholder educated and updated in the field of lighting,&#8221; explains IESSA President Daniel Kasper. &#8220;Through our global collaboration with the IES, we aim to positively impact society and the environment while strengthening each other along the way.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The IES and IESSA have agreed to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between the parties; encourage coordination among each organization\u2019s documents, where appropriate; and, when mutually beneficial, create joint documents, share in educational opportunities, designate committee representatives, and advocate for each other\u2019s organization. Potential research projects and increased participation in committee activities are anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFormalizing relationships with organizations such as the IESSA\u201d mentions IES Director of Education Brienne Musselman, \u201cwill support our efforts to educate, advocate, and engage with the global lighting community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Established in 1906, the IES is the recognized technical and educational authority on illumination. For over 100 years its objective has been to communicate information on all aspects of good lighting practice to its members, to the lighting community, and to consumers through a variety of programs, publications, and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>IESSA represents South Africa internationally and thereby acts as the National Committee of the Commission International De L\u2019Eclairage (CIE). The CIE provides a national and international forum for the discussion of all matters relating to the science, technology and art in the fields of light and lighting and for the interchange of information in these fields between countries.
