ALBUQUERQUE, NM \u2013 NICOR, Inc. announces that John Daly has joined the company\u2019s leadership team as vice president of sales. Daly was recently principal of R&D Lighting & Controls, an Illinois-based lighting agency specializing in commercial and industrial lighting and control solutions. Previously, he served as vice president of international sales for Cree Lighting where he oversaw all global sales offices and developed sales strategies and channels around the world.<\/p>\n

With more than 26 years of lighting industry experience, Daly has a track record of success improving growth and cultivating strong business relationships, and has held numerous executive leadership roles for companies including Lightech (GE), Color Kinetics (Philips), Rig-A-Lite and GE Lighting.<\/p>\n

Daly will report to NICOR\u2019s President and CEO Rocklan Lawrence and be based out of Atlanta, Georgia.<\/p>\n

\u201cJohn is well-respected in the industry and the depth and breadth of his sales and management experience will be a great asset for NICOR as we continue to grow our business partnerships and expand into new market areas,\u201d says Lawrence.<\/p>\n

Daly will manage NICOR\u2019s regional and inside sales teams and execute strategies for greater market penetration throughout NICOR\u2019s supply chain. He\u2019ll also work to strengthen NICOR\u2019s direct and national accounts programs while implementing sales initiatives that propel company growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cNICOR is well positioned in the lighting industry, and has great growth potential,\u201d says Daly, Vice President of Sales for NICOR. \u201cI\u2019m excited to use my skills and knowledge to enhance our business partnerships, build new relationships, and develop and implement sales plans that will drive continued and sustainable growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daly\u2019s background also includes new product planning and implementation, OEM management, and the establishment of new sales and marketing channels. Daly has a bachelor\u2019s of science degree from Michigan State University and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.<\/p>\n
