Universal Lighting Technologies, Inc. joined Affiliated Distributors (AD) wholesale buying group effective January 1, 2016 as an approved supplier for the group\u2019s U.S. electrical distributors. Universal has been a member of AD Canada since 2013.<\/p>\n

AD is the largest contractor and industrial products wholesale buying group in North America. The group\u2019s membership includes 130 independently owned electrical distributors, representing more than 1,100 individual locations in the United States. According to the group, AD\u2019s U.S. electrical division generates more than $13 billion in electrical supply sales annually.<\/p>\n

\u201cUniversal is positioned strongly to help electrical distributors grow their business through advanced products for nearly every application with our outstanding sales, marketing and pricing support,\u201d said Jeff Bristol, vice president of sales, East Coast territory, for Universal Lighting Technologies. \u201cUniversal has conducted business with many loyal AD members over the years, and they value the customer support and the access to impressive local LED and ballast inventory. We look forward to working closely with our current and growing list of AD members.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to AD, its members\u2019 year-to-date sales were up three percent at the end of the third quarter in 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe continued success of AD electrical distributors shows the strength of this market and the savvy of AD business owners,\u201d said Bristol. \u201cOur goal is to support their already strong businesses with innovative lighting products, including top-performing LED products, which meet the demands of the commercial industry and provide distributors a solid growth opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

AD members will receive access to the entire Universal product line, including LED Retrofit Kits, LED Linear T8 Tubes, \u201cLED Ready\u201d Ballasts, LED Wall Packs, LED Vapor Tight, LED Chains, and LED Replacement Drivers, as well as Universal\u2019s broad selection of ballasts and lamps.<\/p>\n
